Bisco Universal Primer — dual-cure adhesive

Designed to secure restoration–tooth fit for indirect restorations. Light-cured adhesives can compromise fit in indirect work due to film thickness. Universal Primer is dual-cure and can polymerize without light — convenient for inlays, onlays, post cementation, crowns and bridges, core materials, and composites. Helps prevent postoperative sensitivity and is compatible with all cementation methods. Two-bottle system; also included in the Duo-Link Universal Kit with components for indirect restorations.

  • Dual polymerizes; compatible with dual-cure materials
  • Usable with total-etch, self-etch, and selective-etch techniques
  • Clinical evaluations show it helps prevent postoperative sensitivity
  • Can be used without light for indirect restorations
  • Low film thickness flows easily onto etched surfaces — chemical and mechanical seal

Preparing the indirect restorative material

Metal, zirconia, alumina, composite, and post restorations: Prepare the intaglio per manufacturer/lab recommendations (e.g. particle abrasion). Do not clean the surface with phosphoric acid before applying adhesive. Apply one coat of UNIVERSAL PRIMER or Z-Prime™ Plus; air-dry to remove excess solvent.

Porcelain (silica-based) and lithium disilicate: Prepare intaglio per lab/manufacturer (e.g. hydrofluoric acid). Apply one coat of UNIVERSAL PRIMER; air-dry. For porcelain veneers or stronger restorations, BISCO PORCELAIN PRIMER is strongly recommended. BISCO research shows silane increases and preserves bond strength on glass ceramics.

For endodontic post use, desensitizing/protective use, and intraoral repair — see the instructions for use. Tooth preparation: self-etch technique — prepare cavity, rinse with water spray, remove excess water.
