Proguard Lyo pericardium membrane — 15×20 mm

PROGUARD is equine pericardium deproteinized by an enzymatic method and consisting of a collagenous purified mesh. Non-toxic and non-mutagenic, does not cause allergy and is biocompatible.

Suitable for use as a biomembrane for guided tissue regeneration in odontostomatology. Obtained by Audio Technologies industrial processing that removes the cellular component enzymatically and retains only the collagen mesh. Resistance index unchanged; sheet becomes more transparent for visual control of tissues in the field.

Contraindications

• Latent or ongoing infections at or around the implantation site; any disease that could unacceptably increase postoperative risk
• Cannot be used in interventions requiring high mechanical load
• Cannot be used in patients allergic to horse
• If surrounding tissue is weak, atrophic or absent, the product cannot take root
• Do not use wrapped or folded — to prevent necrosis of inner parts

Instructions / safety

Packaged in a double waterproof bag; after opening wash 3 times for at least 1 minute each in 50 cc physiological saline. May be moistened with antibiotics, glued and/or sutured. Transparent and thin — cannot carry excessive load. DO NOT RE-STERILIZE; discard unused parts. Taken from horses — the only BSE-free animal; no infection risk for humans. If package is opened or broken, no longer sterile. Store at room temperature (2°C/+25°C) in a dry place. For specialist use only.
