President Zirkon.X Zirconia Block

Scan & Design

  • Use a high-accuracy scanner, then design to the patient’s situation and clinician requirements
  • For all-ceramic restorations thickness should be no less than 0.6 mm
  • Geometric structure of the zirconia bridge is key to fracture resistance — prefer a relatively high connector; connector cross-section at least 9 mm²
  • In posterior teeth, bridge units should not exceed two

Milling

Work with new milling burs and avoid using cooling water. After milling check blocks for: (1) clearly visible bright areas on the surface; (2) abnormal colour; (3) cracks — remake if any appear.

Cleaning

  • Gently polish the connector with a handpiece and separate the restoration from the zirconia block
  • Speed must not exceed 10,000 rpm to prevent cracking
  • Brush off zirconia powder; keep the cleaned crown free of water, wetting water, oil contamination, dust, and milling dust

Staining

Place the crown or bridge in the dipping container with plastic forceps so the restoration is fully covered by colouring liquid; remove with plastic forceps and air-dry until no visible liquid remains. Infrared drying recommended: place the restoration 80–100 mm from the IR drying light for 30–50 minutes (see Aidite colouring liquid instructions).

Sintering

Place the restoration upside down on zirconia beads in the crucible, then sinter in the sintering furnace. Regularly replace zirconia beads and crucible; clean the furnace at least once a month by wiping residues and run empty with leftover zirconia material inside — liquid residues, dust, or aged heating rods can cause opaque restorations or black/white spots.

Grinding, Polishing & Porcelain

  • After rough then fine grinding over the full restoration body, porcelain work can proceed
  • Use grinding tips in sequence; polish from one side of the tooth to the other (one direction); avoid polishing the same spot continuously (local overheating can crack teeth)
  • Follow the porcelain manufacturer’s instructions; design the base anatomically to avoid cracks; avoid direct force from the bite edge onto the tooth margin
  • Single-step staining is preferred; mix stain/toner and glaze paste to cream consistency per the shade guide; keep brush wet with stain liquid; stain from neck toward incisal; occlusion can be darkened with terracotta or brown stain paste
