IPS Style Ceram Powder Opaquer 870 — 18 g Refill
Patented metal-ceramic material IPS Style offers dental laboratories maximum efficiency, easy handling, and lifelike aesthetics. It is the first material in dental ceramic history to contain oxyapatite crystals, which reflect a high amount of illumination and give restorations natural-looking depth.
IPS Style® Ceramic Powder Opaquer 870 is an opaque ceramic that masks the metal framework and establishes the base shade. IPS Style® is an innovative ceramic system for metal-ceramic restorations from anterior crowns to multi-unit bridges, based on newly developed glass ceramics containing leucite, fluorapatite, and oxyapatite — enabling restorations with high firing stability, minimal shrinkage, and nature-faithful aesthetics.
IPS Style Ceram is a highly aesthetic metal-ceramic for traditional veneering; IPS Style Ceram One is a single-layer ceramic for fast, uncomplicated layering depending on patient needs.
Material
Feldspar-free veneering ceramic for dental restorations on high-gold, reduced-gold, palladium-based, and base-metal alloy frameworks with CTE in the range 13.8 to 15.2 × 10⁻⁶/K (25–500 °C), for both single-layer and traditional layering. Main firing cycle for IPS Style Ceram at 790 °C / 1454 °F — significantly lower than conventional feldspar ceramics. Chemical basis: mixed glass-ceramics with leucite KAlSi₂O₆, fluorapatite Ca₅(PO₄)₃F, and oxyapatite NaY₉(SiO₄)₈O₂ crystal phases.
Indications
- Traditional multi-layer veneering ceramic for the most popular dental alloys (including electroplating) in CTE range 13.8–15.2 × 10⁻⁶/K (25–500 °C) — IPS Style Ceram
- Single-layer veneering ceramic for the most popular dental alloys (including electroplating) in the same CTE range — IPS Style Ceram One
- Veneers on refractory die material (IPS Style Ceram only)
- Characterization with IPS Ivocolor Shade and Essence stains
- Glazing with IPS Ivocolor Glaze
Contraindications
- Bruxism
- Veneering of titanium and zirconium oxide frameworks
- Other uses not listed in the indications
Important processing restrictions
- Exceeding or falling below prescribed veneering layer thicknesses
- Not observing the layer thickness ratio between framework and layering ceramic
- Mixing and co-processing with other dental ceramics
- Veneering dental alloys outside the prescribed CTE range
- Not observing required minimum connector and framework thicknesses
Side effects: IPS Style Ceramic restorations must not be used if the patient is known to be allergic to any of the material components.
