Guttasolv — gutta-percha solvent solution

Composition: eucalyptol. Solvent for gutta-percha.

Indications

• Master gutta-percha placement in root canal fill techniques using lateral condensation
• Removal of gutta-percha in endodontic retreatment

Use — lateral condensation

Select a master cone matching canal width; dip the tip in solvent. Advance with in-and-out motions to working length so the softened cone adapts to irregularities. Remove, coat with sealer, reseat; condense laterally with a solvent-coated spreader.

Use — retreatment

Place 2 drops of solution in the pulp chamber and remove softened gutta-percha with a hand file toward the apical foramen. Periodically add fresh solvent and irrigate with sodium hypochlorite.
