5/0 - 17 mm: 05/2027
Synthetic absorbable surgical suture — polyglycolic acid, braided type, coated multifilament.
Composition: Polyglycolic acid. Coating: polycaprolactone and calcium stearate (1%).
Minimal absorption tissue reaction. Hydrolytic breakdown of the material results in total absorption in approximately 60 to 90 days.
About 50% of tensile strength remains after 21 days.
Tensile strength remaining after implantation
- 14 days: approx. 70% of original strength
- 21 days: approx. 50%
- 28 days: approx. 20%
