3M ESPE Impregum Penta Soft Quick — Polyether Impression Material for Use with the Pentamix Device

Features

A precise polyether impression material mixed automatically in the Pentamix system, transferable to tray and syringe, used with a single-stage monophase impression technique.

Crown-bridge, inlay-onlay, complete-partial, and implant impressions are taken.

In addition to the hydrophilic, thixotropic, and snap-set properties of polyether, it has the advantage of newer-generation polyethers: it is easy to remove after setting.

Taste has been improved.

Application

• Impregum Penta Soft is mixed with Pentamix and transferred directly into an impression tray coated with adhesive.
• Impregum Penta Soft is filled from the Pentamix into its special syringe and expressed onto the preparation surface.
• Following this, the tray filled with Impregum Penta Soft is seated in the mouth and held steady without applying pressure until setting is complete.

Working time from start of mixing: 2:45 min. Total setting time: 6 min.

Properties of polyether

• It is hydrophilic.
• It spreads fully onto wet surfaces.
• It does not retreat from environments containing saliva, blood, or moisture.
• It is thixotropic. The impression flows when pressure is applied and stops when released.
• It does not flow into the patient’s throat and does not drip when applied to the upper jaw.
• It has a snap-set property. The setting reaction begins toward the end of working time. At the end of working time the entire material sets at once and evenly. This helps prevent deformations that could occur during working time.
• It cannot be combined with silicone materials.
