For optimum performance, follow the recommended speeds in the table and use burs at those speeds.
- Do not apply unnecessary pressure during preparation
- Recommended pressure range depending on the procedure: 0.3–2 N
- Excessive pressure impairs preparation and increases the risk of bur fracture
- Minimal contact during preparation helps maximize instrument life
- If the bur runs at 1500 rpm, use at least 50 ml/min of water for adequate cooling

- Excessive speed can damage gingiva and vital tissues; the same risk applies if cooling water is insufficient
- Excessive speed can deform large-headed burs and increase fracture risk
