AquaCare Single — airflow and intraoral air abrasion unit
Clean dentistry. AquaCare conditions the tooth surface using various powders for better bond strength, desensitization, remineralization and prophylaxis treatments. Fissures can be cleaned and caries cut — in most cases without a drill or needle. You have full control of powder, pressure and solution — with supra or subgingival tips, which treatments do your patients need today…? The main differences between Single and Twin are time: time to change cartridges, cleaning time, time to change settings.
Indications
- Place as a first option
- Decontamination
- Remineralization
- Desensitization
- Crown preparation before cementation
- Preventive resin restoration (PRR)
- Composite/porcelain repair and restoration
- Orthodontic bracket etching
- Cleaning and polishing; removal of tea/tobacco stains
- Removal of herbal plugs or other materials before diagnosing hidden caries
- Class I–Class V cavity preparation, cleaning and caries removal
AquaCare Twin without anesthesia
Removal of glass ionomer and composite restorations, conservative preparations, etching porcelain, and cleaning and etching tooth surfaces before fissure sealing can all be done without a bur and usually without anesthesia.
How does AquaCare Twin compare on speed?
Speed, powder and water volume can be varied within very wide limits, giving the clinician full control and high working versatility: mostly used without anesthesia, saving time on most patients.
How safe is aluminum oxide?
Aluminum oxide is non-toxic and does not cause respiratory problems. AquaCare works with 53 micron and 29 micron powder, placing them well below the legally permitted safe level in the event of accidental inhalation.
Is soft tissue affected?
Soft tissue damage is unlikely because the energy of abrasion is absorbed by any soft tissue that is contacted.
Sensitivity of teeth under treatment
Dentin sensitivity is usually quickly controlled with a slight reduction in air pressure. Cutting with short abrasive bursts helps prevent patient reaction. This is especially important near the pulp — with low air pressure, an experienced clinician can prepare cavities without patient sensitivity.
Controlling depth during cutting
The tip must be moving and the abrasive stream sprayed in short intervals. If the tip is held still during active abrasion, cutting depth increases.
If soft caries is encountered
Soft caries is best removed with sodium bicarbonate or your usual method. Some patients may need anesthesia, but most will tolerate mild discomfort once the procedure is explained.
Using AquaCare Twin for caries diagnosis
In cleaning/polishing mode with sodium bicarbonate, foreign material such as a herbal plug may hide a carious lesion in a fissure or pit. When the clinician turns a control, they can switch to the selected cutting medium WITHOUT REMOVING THE HANDPIECE FROM THE ORAL CAVITY and continue treating the lesion. This diagnostic use of AquaCare has proven to be a great feature for dentists, especially for conservative dentistry.
Versatility of control
The clinician has a wide range of air pressure, powder and water volume settings to suit all abrasion procedures. Conservative, time-saving and patient-friendly.
