Onefile NiTi canal file — Reciproc alternative (6-pack)

VDW Reciproc alternative NiTi canal file in a 6-piece pack. One NiTi single-file system: usable in reciprocating or non-reciprocating systems regardless of whether your endo motor runs in reciprocation or full rotation (360°), aiming to finish canal treatment with a single file — at about half the price of similar products.

Important: On conventional endodontic motors with full rotation, because of the cutting side of the blades these files must be run counter-clockwise (R); blades and files do not work in the normal clockwise direction. The motor must be able to run in reverse. Reciprocating devices need no modification.

  • Nanotechnology coating for longer life (more uses) and higher resistance to fracture and wear.
  • Convex triangular cross-section for effective cutting and NoScrew effect in the canal.
  • Current short-term promotional pricing offers about half the price of similar products.
  • The system aims to finish treatment with a single rotary file; successful in some cases, but attention points and modifications/pre-files may be needed in complicated canals.
  • Files come in 3 types for narrow, medium and wide canals.
  • Used at 250–450 RPM with 2.5 Ncm torque.
  • Tip sizes: narrow #20, medium #25, wide #40 (specify when ordering).
  • 1 box = 6 pieces.

Taper and obturation notes

Although the company catalogue states a taper angle of 0.08°, tests with tapered gutta-percha during filling showed an incline around 0.06. Canals prepared with these files are filled with 0.06 gutta for sizes 20 and 25 (20/06) (25/06). For size 40, use Protaper F4 gutta or 40/04 gutta (40/06 gutta falls 1–2 mm short); with the second option (40/04), lateral condensation with at least one more gutta is recommended. System gutta and tapered paper points are available in the EndoMarket section of the site.

Clinical use rules

As with all rotary systems, with the single-file system determine working length before treatment, pre-flare with size 10–15 files and open the trajectory. Especially important: single-file systems remove more debris at once than other systems, so after 3–4 strokes recapitululate and irrigate the canal, clean the instrument, then continue without forcing. Insisting on going directly to working length in one pass increases file fracture risk.
