The Forsus appliance is designed to correct Class II bite problems in which the lower teeth sit further behind the upper teeth.

In the past, Class II correction often meant wearing headgear for several hours a day or using elastics consistently for many months. Other intraoral appliances existed but were bulky and required outside laboratory fabrication after impressions.
